Short Story

“What does that even mean ?” Carrie asked with her lips pursed to the side.
“You didn’t understand?” Luke asked in return.
“I think you were talking about work being pushed to you.” Carrie continued.
Luke nodded his head.
“What is ‘Scar Lee’ ?” Carrie enquired.
“I meant to ask, what if people push all the work to me?"Luke said.
“You will need to be clear of what tasks you are responsible for and what tasks are not.” Carrie answered.
Luke’s eye widened, he seemed to have learnt something new.
“Throughout my time there,my employer always yaya papaya, I actually did not want to stay there .” Luke exclaimed.
Carrie sighed and folded her arms. She had only arrived in Singapore two months ago.She is not well versed with Singaporean colloquial. She felt a sensation near her forehead.
“Eariler on, you mentioned that they raised the issue about termination first isn’t it ?” Carrie asked with a raised voice. She was feeling annoyed about the situation.
“Sorry,pardon.” Luke stammered.
